Percy’s Bio
I was born March 16th, 1968 in New York City to Helen and William Burt. From childhood, I began rejoicing and singing in church with my five brothers and extended church family in The Way of the Cross church in Manhattan where I sang in junior, youth and adult choirs. I developed a love of music at a young age from my family, all who are deeply rooted in the church.
I graduated from Theodore Roosevelt High School in the Bronx and went on to attend Westchester Community College and attended Long Island University where I majored in Physical Education and Business administration. I continued to pursue music in a variety of ways.
I have played base guitar for over 30 years. I enjoy playing jazz with my bands: “Spiritual Jazz” and The Third String Giants”. I live in Fredericksburg with my 3 children Ciarra, Percy Jr. and Kelsey. We attend Real Life Community Church where I lead the Praise and Worship Team. We participate in the churches mission to reach out to a diverse community. The praise team focuses on uniting people from all walks of life in praise and worship through music.
