Steve’s Bio

I have lived in the Fredericksburg area since 1992. In addition to being the Pastor of Missions, I am leading a small group at RL, and I am currently the director of the Fredericksburg Area Baptist Association. I served in Kansas and Richmond with Baptist associations prior to coming to Fredericksburg. My wife, Pam, and I have 4 children and 12 grandchildren. Pam is a project leader with Advanced Technological Systems in Tyson’s Corner, she manages an IT support contract with Housing and Urban Development. We served on the start-up teams for Ni River Community Church, Evergreen Church and at Real Life. We live in Cardinal Forest near the current worship location for Real Life Community Church. I enjoy gardening, eating, and watching TV. I am basically an over- achieving couch potato. My favorite T.V. show is the Andy Griffith Show because it reminds me of my hometown in Alabama, except there were African-Americans in Russellville unlike Mayberry. I root for the St. Louis Cardinals, the Auburn Tigers, and the Washington Redskins but the closest I get to participating in sports is walking slowly around the neighborhood. I am excited about Real Life Church because I believe many people can find meaning and purpose through participating in the fellowship of others who are following Christ. Small groups of many different types can help people grow as persons, as Christ-followers, and as leaders. I look forward to what Christ is going to do in Stafford County and the Fredericksburg area through Real Life Community Church.
