Outreach Ministry

The opportunities for ministry at Real Life allow us to live out our vision as we extend Christ’s love to others and empower them to do likewise.

Previous outreach opportunities have included: participation in the Relay for Life; providing food and fellowship at the homeless shelter; distribution of batteries for smoke detectors to homes in England Run; sponsoring a Community Day at Gayle Middle School; providing assistance to England Run apartment fire victims; sponsorship of a refugee family from Sudan; providing school supplies to children at Gayle Middle School, a free car wash at Burger king and Real Life provided the opportunity for Real Life families to share Christmas gifts with the children at the homeless shelter.    

Ongoing outreach opportunities include our;  community food distribution ministry which occurs each Sunday morning at 8:30, a bible study is being planned for those that come early to reserve their spot in line.  Members from Real Life went to South Africa in September 2007 to assist a new church plant in Kroonstad and are planning another trip for the fall of 2010.  

Planned outreach opportunities include: sponsorship of a Biker Weekend in the Spring of 2010, tying the ride with a charity - to provide AIDS awareness or benefit some other charity already connected to RLCC such as the homeless shelter or the women’s shelter. Watch the outreach calendar for opportunities to live out the gospel of Jesus Christ.  For additional information about Real Life Outreach opportunities contact Pastor Jeff Sowers phone h: 540-786-3087 or c: 540-840-1074.
