Our Vision
Our vision is to Care, to Connect, to Equip, to foster Community, to help people find their specific Calling, and to Covenant to love and serve God together.
To Care - In an age where few things seem genuine we seek to model authenticity as we live with compassion and kindness in a Biblically functioning community. It is neither our role nor our place to be judgmental—but rather to “love God with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength” and in doing so, “love our neighbors as ourselves”.
To Connect - In an age where we increasingly find ourselves disconnected as a fractured and fragmented people, RLCC seeks to break down all barriers of race, gender, age, socio-economic condition, etc. We believe God has designed us in all our uniqueness and diversity to live in a spirit of oneness and unity - in our marriage and family, in our friendships and community relationships, in our faith and in our church. This is a place where people of all races, ages, and background, and from all stages in their spiritual journey can learn and grow together in relationship with one another and with God. We invite others to join us in the journey of discovering how God is already reaching out to us in Christ.
To Equip - We have been created for a life full of purpose and meaning, and while we make no claim of having “all the answers” at RLCC we unashamedly believe that full and meaningful life is found only in an intimate faith relationship with Jesus. By offering opportunities for spiritual formation and mentoring that can be entered into at any point in one’s spiritual journey we hope to help people discover the answer to life’s biggest question, “Why am I here?”
Foster Community - In an age of isolation we seek to foster community—both secular and sacred. Biblical community is best experienced in small groups for care and intimacy and in larger groups for worship. The basis for our community will be:
- Grace: Being a person of grace
- Submission: Giving of ourselves to one another
- Relationships: Honorable, loving relationships in our family, our church, among friends, coworkers, and neighbors—and being reconciled with our enemies
- Generosity: Learning to live generously
- Service: The desire to serve more than be served
- Investment: A deep investment and involvement in the life and vitality of the community of faith
Identify Calling - We seek to live “other-centered” lives—a life that is not all about us, but all about God. We are called to serve in the power of God for the reconciliation of the world in the ways God has gifted us. This is where our greatest passion meets the world’s greatest need.
Covenant Together with God - God has invited us into a covenant relationship with Him. He will be our God, and we will be His people. Deeper than a “commitment”, God’s covenant is everlasting and comes through the shedding of the blood of His Son, Jesus Christ. As His people God has empowered us to be His hands, His feet, and His voice in this age—to continue the work of Christ in the world so that we would be part of the Great Co-mission.
